International Women's Day is 8th March - and Labour has been looking at House of Commons data to mark the occasion
Its research found that companies led by women outperform those led by men - but despite this, we're very far from achieving gender parity in the workplace
Shadow secretary for women, Anneliese Dodds, and the Treasury's champion for women in finance, Amanda Blanc, have both called for more measures to be put in place to address issues around improving the representation of women in leadership, and in work generally.
Companies with female leaders perform better than those led by males, House of Commons data has revealed.
To mark International Women’s Day on 8th March, The Guardian reports that Labour researchers looked at House of Commons archived data, which cites McKinsey research, and found that companies in the top quartile for female executives outperform companies in the bottom quartile by 25%.
