Arena Personnel are delighted to be recruiting for a sales manager to join a successful gaming business based in Letchworth. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially creative individual to develop and grow a network of distributors and retailers within a fast-growing retro gaming hardware company. You will be the main contact for our EMEA customers, driving sales, building the international business and managing relationships.

Purpose of role

To build and maintain a network of retail and distribution partners across the EMEA & ANZ territories. The company is in the process of launching an exciting new product range globally and as a result there is an increasing importance on the strength of distribution both inside and outside of the UK and to build long term, profitable partnerships with local partners to maximise sales.

The successful candidate will have the commercial acumen to identify the best opportunities and to establish and develop these to deliver sales and profit in line with budgets and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities

This is a senior role for an individual who loves building customer relationships and delivering first class account management.

· A full review of existing partnerships

· Development of successful partnerships

· Identification of potential new partners

· Liaising closely with product Director to fully understand the product range(s) and how best to maximise their sales potential

· Definition and management of the processes for communication of product information and the management of marketing to maximise demand

· Definition and management of the process for collecting orders and monitoring sell in, sell through, pricing, returns and markdowns

· Reporting internally on partner performance

· Regular European travel and meetings with partners in line with the level of business achievable

· Preparation of budgets and forecasts supported by product benchmarks where possible

· Preparation and negotiation of business plans and agreements to ensure suitable commitments and commercial control in each country

· Supporting cash flow management as and when needed

· Internal liaison with Ops, Logistics and Marketing functions to ensure customer satisfaction

Measurable deliverables

· Sales vs budget and forecast Margin and profit

· Markdowns and returns

· Commercial control of local marketing spends and implementation with support from Marketing as required

· Breadth of coverage – i.e. full distribution in all countries

· Timeliness of orders in line with production schedules and release dates

· Tracking and escalation of payment collection (with support from finance)

Personal capabilities – Must Have

· Willingness to travel

· Presentation Skills

· Commercial acumen with a high level of numeracy and literacy with the ability to create and adapt excel business models, contract templates etc

· Knowledge of the Distribution and retail model/business/ways of working

· Ability to work with the internal team to deliver the necessary materials and assets required by partners

· Ability to work in a small team and on own initiative

· Strong negotiation skills

Good to have

· Sound knowledge of European distribution and retail dynamics and preferably existing network of contacts and partners

· Interest in games and games industry

· Licensing knowledge and understanding

· Sound knowledge of commercial processes and pricing mechanics within the games industry (or similar)

Based in Letchworth office except when travelling

Reporting to: Director

Salary - £40,000 - £45,000 pa + OTE Bonus Structure

Mon- Fri 9:00am – 5:30pm
